今年も「ハロウィンパーティ」を楽しみました（開催の様子）！
品川区西大井のグローバル親子クラブ（GOC）の代表・藤巻です（代表メッセージ 代表ブログ）
GOCには、西大井、大井町、中延、荏原中延、戸越、馬込など近隣地域から多くのお子さんたちが通っています。現在、放課後英語学童クラスでは、伊藤小学校、伊藤学園、大井第一小学校、上神明小学校、豊葉の杜学園、品川翔英小学校、山中小学校など、地域の各小学校からお子さんたちが集まり一緒に学習しています。GOCのミッションは、「女性の仕事と子育て両立支援」です。子どもから大人まで、グローバル社会で自分らしくたくましく活躍する基礎作りのサポートをします。より多くの女性が活躍できる社会の実現に貢献していきたいと思っています。
♠ 今年もレッスン中にハロウィンパーティを楽しみました！
みんなが楽しみにしていたハロウィンパーティは、今年もコロナ感染拡大防止策として規模を縮小
して、学童クラスは10月最終週に、土曜の幼児クラスは10/16 と 10/30の通常のレッスン時間内に実施しました。今年は、本物のかぼちゃで作ったJack-o’-Lanternも用意し、コスチュームを着て来たり、英語でビンゴをしたり、ちょっと怖い話を聞いたり、trick-or-treatでお菓子をもらったり楽しい時間を過ごしました！
October is the month that we celebrate Halloween! Halloween is celebrated on October 31st, but at GOC we had decided to have a small Halloween party during the class.
♠ 視覚・聴覚・触覚を使うゲームは英語学習に効果的！ハロウィンパーティでも、楽しいゲームを通して英語を学習しました。
ハロウィーンは、魂が生き物と一緒に地球を自由に歩き回る日として、世界のさまざまな地域で祝われています。グローバル親子クラブでも、外国の様々な文化に触れる機会を作るため、イベントを開催するようにしています。今年は、コロナでイベントとして大々的に開催することが難しかったため、レッスン中に小さなパーティーを実施して、ハロウィーンにまつわるゲームをしたり、歌を歌ったりして楽しみました。 子供たちはアクティビティを通して英語を習得することができます。例えば、風船を床に触れさせずにお互いに渡す「Just keep it up」というゲームをしたり、「I spy」ゲームもしました。このゲームでは、講師が言ったものが教室のどこにあるのかを探すゲームですが、これは単語を楽しく復習する１つの方法です。
また、用意した障害物を通り抜けながら、さまざまなモンスターの名前やハロウィーンに関連する単語やフレーズを復習するというゲームも行いました。ハロウィーンビンゴでは、レッスン中に学んださまざまなハロウィーンの単語を楽しく識別する良い機会となりました。
Hello, I’m Macrine, English teacher at GOC. Halloween is celebrated in different parts of the world as the day where souls are free to roam the earth with the living. We make sure to celebrate different foreign Holidays in Global Oyako Club to promote the exposure of different cultures at the school. During our small party, we prepared various activities for the kids to enjoy and have some Halloween fun. During the Halloween program we played various songs that were catchy and in theme with the holiday.
This way the children would be able to pick up on the language whilst doing other activities. We played a game “Just keep it up” wherein you pass the balloon to one another without letting it touch the floor. We combined this with reciting the alphabet from A to Z. Multiple senses and actions are used, this heightens the probability of the child remembering the order of the letters. We also played the “I spy” game with animals on the wall. Through this game, the phrase “I spy” is practiced in search for certain items. This is a fun way to review words. The kids enjoy seeing the different animals and looking for each of them. We reviewed our Halloween words through an obstacle course that leads the kids to become more motivated in memorizing the names of the different monsters and words related to Halloween. The kids enjoy this game because of the challenge that is set for them via each obstacle. We then played BINGO Halloween, which was a fun way to identify the different Halloween words we learned during class. Our final game was “Candy on a rope” wherein the kids had to jump and grab the candy that’s attached onto the rope. This way they learn the action and saying the word out loud.
The Halloween party was a success and the children had enjoyed a sneak peek of what it is like to celebrate this holiday. With better circumstances next year, hopefully we can hold an event. Happy Halloween!
